The list of living poets below is taken from the Poetical Register, and Repository of Fugitive Poetry for 1801, pp. 487–91; the original can be viewed here. The version below is reformatted for the web and annotated to provide further information on the listed poets.

For this web version, I’ve inserted equals signs between names and dates to replace the spacing in the original, replaced small capitals with large ones and removed some decorative font variations.  I’ve added numbering for convenience.  Spellings, punctuation and so forth are as given in the original, but some annotations have been added to aid with identifications – [these are given in square brackets].

To make the list more useful, I’ve added a link to an openly-available biographical source after each name, most commonly Wikipedia, David Hill Radcliffe’s Spenser and the Tradition: English Poetry 1579–1830 (Spenserians) or an old version of the DNB (via Wikisource).  For a few poets, more detailed academic accounts are given; for the most obscure, the final fall-back was John Watkins and Frederic Shoberl’s invaluable Biographical Dictionary of the Living Authors of Great Britain and Ireland (London: Henry Colburn, 1816).  A couple of poets remain biographically elusive; for these, I’ve linked works.
